Dancing on the Edge

Theaterfestival Dancing on the Edge
Dancing on the Edge
Cutting edge dance, theater and art installations showcase the artistic exchange between Europe, the Middle East and North Africa during Dancing on the Edge Festival in 4 Dutch cities.

Dansfestival Dancing on the Edge

Dancing on the Edge believes in the power of art as a laboratory to experiment, meet, and at times touch upon the more sensitive parts of our societies. Asking questions instead of looking for easy answers. Without ready-made solutions, but with an eye for complexity, multi-dimensionality, fluidity, and above all humanity. Therefore, this year’s program has a strong focus on new work and (ongoing) artistic research.

The 6th edition of the festival marks the 10 year anniversary of Dancing on the Edge. In the past 10 years the festival has brought high quality, international performing arts to The Netherlands, showing a diverse and multi-layered side of the Middle East. We’ve arrived at a moment in time when borders are fading on the one hand, and tightening on the other hand. A time that asks for new theatrical languages and innovative festival formats, including Skype performances, exciting encounters on stage and more open spaces. We invite you to make it happen together with us!
